Will happily swap info on any of the above Washington County, Indiana surnames - Specifically looking for info on James T. and Margaret (nee?) Gardner who immigrated to the US from County Antrim, Ireland in the late 1700s. First to Chester County, SC then to Washington County, IN (appx. 1813 or 1818). J and M Gardner had 5 kids: Margaret, Sarah Jane, George, Polly, and James. All five children were born in SC but all were married in Washington County, IN. All three girls reputedly married Weir brothers, three sons of William and Susannah (Miller) Weir. Sarah Jane Gardner married James T. Weir and Polly Gardner married John Weir. The Weirs also came to Washington County, IN via Chester County, SC, originally from County Antrim, Ireland. Some were Scotch-Irish Presbyterian "Covenanters". The off-spring of these two families frequently inter-married. George Gardner married Nancy McKnight (another Wash. Co. family) and James Gardner married Margaret McCullough of Chester Co., SC. They may have ended up in Scott County, IN.
Would be eternally grateful for any information about these folks. Found most of them in Beech Grove Cemetery (Franklin Township), Washington Co., IN, a few weeks ago.
George Gardner and Nancy McKnight would be my great-great-great-great grandparents. George and Nancy's son, Robert, married Hannah Hartley. Robert and Hannah's son, George, married Cora Laymon. George and Cora's daughter, Clara, is my paternal grandmother, recently deceased and resting eternally in the Remington Indiana Cemetery, where many other Gardners are buried.
As well, am looking for info about these Scotch-Irish Presbyterian Covenanters. Most fled Scotland in the mid-1600s and settled in County Antrim, Ireland and many immigrated to the US and settled in Chester County, SC.

James married Margaret about 1787. (Margaret was born on 2 Sep 1764 in Ireland, died on 28 Aug 1854 and was buried in Beech Grove Cemetery, Washington County, Indiana, USA.)
