Oscar E. Leas, 88, of 2587 Donegal Springs Rd., Marietta, passed away on February 15, 2007 at ManorCare, Elizabethtown. He was the husband of the late Helen Stauffer Leas who died in February, 2002.

A carpenter by trade, he retired from the Masonic Villages of Elizabethtown after 15 years of employment. He also operated a general farm in Conoy Twp.

He was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church of Mount Joy. Oscar enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Perry Co., where he liked to hunt and fish.

Born on March 17, 1918 in Hanover, he was the son of the late Ervin R., and Mary Amspacher Leas.

He is survived by two sons, James O., (Bonnie Gutshall) Leas, and Kenneth E. Leas, both of Marietta; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Also surviving is his brother, Norman D. (Alice) Leas of Maytown. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Ervin Leas.

A funeral Service honoring Oscars life will be held from St. Marks United Methodist Church, 27 East Main Street, Mount Joy, on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Donald E. Zechman officiating. Interment to follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Garden, Columbia. A viewing will be held at St. Marks from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. NOTE: Please use the rear entrance to St. Marks.
