I am new to the list and read with interest the info about Falls MM's
reenactment of a marriage. Is it possible to get copies of records and
minutes from early Meetings? I am particularly interested in a letter of
introduction (traveling minute?) which Stephen Wilson brought with him in
1688 from a meeting in Cumberland Co. England. He presented it to the
Chesterfield Meeting, Burlington County, NJ upon his arrival in this
country. In 1690 Stephen was employed in the construction of the Falls
Meeting House in Bucks Co. and thereafter was associated with that MM,
although he continued to live on the NJ side of the Delaware. In 1692 he
was married in the Falls Meeting House to Sarah Baker, born in West Darbye,
Lancashire, Eng. 10-18-1672. Sarah was the daughter of Henry and Hanna
(Hardiman) Baker and came to this country in 1683-84.
Stephen and Sarah's children were Stephen, Sarah, Mary, Rebecca, John, and
Samuel b. 1706. I am interested in Samuel Wilson's line: Thomas b. 1731,
David b.1780, and Thomas b. 1803 all of Bucks Co. Their respective wives
were (beginning w/ Samuel): Rebecca Canby, Sarah Fell, Elizabeth Hibbs b.
1784, and Elizabeth Leas b. 1805 in OH.
Any information on how to obtain information from the afore mentioned
meetings or links to this family would be much appreciated. Thank you.
