Tax lists;
Bedford Co., Pa., Assessment Rolls of 1772 and 1773 lists a Jacob Link in Springhill Township (apparently as a head of family) and an Andrew Link (apparently not head of a family) in Tyrone Township. ........ ( In 1772, all of present Fayette county PA consisted of two townships - Springhill and Tyrone.... All of present Greene county was included as part of Springhill Township, a subdivision of Bedford county. Bedford county was formed out of Cumberland county, PA on 9 March 1771. Westmoreland county PA was formed from Bedford County on 26 Feb 1773. Washington county PA was formed out of Westmoreland coujnty on 28 March 1781 and included 13 townships. Donegal, Cumberland, Morgan, and Green Townships composed portion which is now Greene county. Finley Township was taken from Donegal Township in Jan 1788; and in March 1792, Richhill Township was erected out of Finley.)
