In the name of God Amen, I Peter Deardoff of the county of Bedford State of VA being indisposed in body but of sound mind \endash considering my (dipolution) near at hand do make this my last will & testament and dispose of all of my real & personal estate in the way & manner following ___ my soul I commend to god who gave it my body I desire to be decently (intered) in the earth & funeral expenses to first be paid out of my estate - Item 1st It is my wish that after my decease __ ____ as sufficient notice can be given in the usual manor of vending? The whole of my real & personal estate be offered to public sale by my executor (specific legacy excepted) giving such ____ they shall think \endash most advantageous for the estate - 2nd It is my will & desire that all my just debts be paid out of the money arriving out of my estate. Item 3__ I give & bequeath to my beloved wife Christenah Deardoff three hundred pounds cash to be disposed of by her at pleasure during her life for her own use, should? Any remain after her life (he) (deth) to be divided amongst all my children John (and Samuel) Deardoff excepted. Item 4th I give bequest to my two sons John Deardoff & Samuel Deardoff __ hundred pounds three hundred cash out of the money arising from the sale of my estate to be their (& their heirs) for ever. Item 5th It is my will that the balance of the money arriving out of the sale of my estate be divided equally amongst the whole of my children, taking into (___tion) the several _____ _____ in advance by several of my children a (wil) be seen & there (afer) (vendered) _______ with them made equal with those who have not received any thing by way of advances Susy Deardoff wife of H. Deardoff, Anny Kinzor, wife of Jacob Kinzor, Betsy Boblitz wife of Jacob Boblitz, Christenah Bechor wife of Henry (Becnor) Henry Deardoff (oldest son) are those children that have received estates in advance. Peter Deardoff Rebeckah Deardoff Polly Kinzor wife of John Kinzor John Deardoff Jacob Deardoff Sammual Deardoff are those that may not be charged with anything in advance Caty Amen also \endash Item 6th It is my will that ____ portion of my estate that may be coming to Lucy Deardoff wife of Henry Deardoff ----- shall remain in the hand of my executors and be (disp___) of by them for the use of ___ Lucy (Suzy) Deardoff during her life (and should) any remaining at her death to be her heirs forever, Item 7th I constitute and appoint John Deardoff Samuel Deardoff and Mitchell Ewing my executor to this my last will and testament revoking all others _____ ______ of _____ set my hand and seal this second day of Sept. 1816.

At a court held for Bedford County at the court house the 28 day of October 1816 This last will and testament of Peter Deardoff was executed in court & proven by the oath of Joseph Boyer M Williamson Michael Boblitz ___scribing _____ ______ to be recorded & the mention of John Deardoff & Mitchell Ewing two of the executors______named who made oath I ____ into bond ________ according to ____ certificate is granted them for obtaining a probate thereof in due form. Liberty being reserved the other Executors to join in the probate where he may think fit.
