General Notes:
Daniel WORLEY was born in 1644 in Parndon, Essex, England. In 1682 he was a woolen draper and merchant in London, England. When the ship "Welcome" that brought William Penn and Caleb and Ann Worley Pusey to America began loading for America in July of 1682, the first few days were entirely for Daniel Wharley, and friend of William Penn and George Fox. He carried on an extensive trade with the West Indies.
Among the items Daniel Wharley shipped to America was iron and a 17 cwt (hundred weight) valued about fifty four pounds. Daniel Worley (spelled Wharley) was not a passenger but Caleb Pusey was; this was probably the mill that was set up and run by Caleb Pusey in Chester County.
Other items Wharley sent aboard the "Welcome" were wool, cotton, nails, brass, wrought iron, 3 dozen shod shovels, 2 chests window glass, 7 dozen candles, 1 1/2 cwt. gunpowder, 4 cwt lead shot, 3 1/4 cwt pewter, castors, 60 pounds of serges, 1/2 cwt. haberdashery, 50 pounds of shoes, 1/2 cwt cordage, 2 horse collars.
