EDWIN TROVINGER Funeral Services for Auburn Man, Resident of City for 48 years will be Conducted Tuesday Afternoon. Edwin C. Trovinger, 69, a resident of Auburn for 48 years, died at 9:50 p.m. Friday at the Dr. Bonnell M. Souder hospital in Auburn following a lingering illness. The body was removed to the Dilgard & Cline funeral home in Auburn for burial preparations. The body will remain for funeral services at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Joseph Ferguson of east of Auburn will officiate with burial in Woodlawn cemetery near Auburn. Twilight Masonic services will be conducted at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Monday. The Auburn resident had been in failing health for more than three years after submitting to surgery at Sacred Heart hospital, Garrett. Eight weeks ago, he was admitted to the Souder hospital. Mr. Trovinger was a native of Huntington county, Ind., son of the late Albert Trovinger and May Kettering Trovinger. He resided in the Roanoke community until he came to Auburn 48 years ago. Mr. Trovinger was associated with his brothers in the Trovinger Implement company and was later employed at the Double Fabric company which preceded the Auburn Rubber Co. For several years, he was an agent for the years, he was an agent for the O'Day Oil company. Thirteen years ago, he accepted employment at the Rieke Metal Products Corporation in Auburn. The late residence is at 702 West Seventh Street, Auburn. For many years, Mr. Trovinger was active in DeKalb county Democratic politics. He married Mae Slaybaugh of near Auburn Nov. 25, 1911. She survives with a son, Roy E. Trovinger, Fort Wayne, three daughters, Mrs. Geraldine Rinkel, Jeffersonville, Ind., Miss Isabel Trovinger, Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Eleanor Thomas, 704 West Seventh street, Auburn; four brothers, Simon T. Trovinger, 223 South Center street, Auburn, John Trovinger, Huntington, Albert Trovinger of near Garrett, and Arthur Trovinger of near Auburn and six grandchildren, Allen and Carole Thomas of 704 West Seventh street, Auburn, Kathryn and Marilyn Rinkel, Jeffersonville, and Douglas and Mary Kay Trovinger, Fort Wayne. Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death. Mr. Trovinger was a member of the German Reformed church at Huntington and the Auburn Masonic lodge since 1921.
Edwin married Mae B. Slaybaugh, daughter of Hiram H. Slaybaugh and Ada Gonser, on 25 Nov 1911 in Auburn, Dekalb County, Indiana, USA. (Mae B.
