  General Notes:

born in Germany in 1801, and came to America with
his family in 1832 and settled in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, and later in
Massillion, Ohio, remaining there till 1853, when he removed to De Kalb
County, and bought 120 acres of land on the southeast quarter of section 22,
Smithfield Township. Forty acres of land were cleared and under cultivation,
and had a log cabin and barn.


Charles married Louisa Berg.
