  General Notes:

The lived in Summit but never had any children. They owned a gristmill, coal yard and fertilizer companies in Summit. They were very religious and led a very conservative lifestyle. They are buried in Hudson Circle Cemetery.

They offered to pay L.D.'s way to school if he became a preacher. So the story goes, L.D. said, "he wasn't ready to settle down" and didn't take them up on the proposal. ¹

Jim married Imo Gramling, daughter of William Albert Gramling and Mary May Chapman.
