Bruce Walter Hill ¹

Bruce Walter Hill, age 65, of Bitely passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2017, at Mercy Health Partners \endash Sherman Campus in Muskegon following complications from surgery. Bruce was born on December 27, 1951, in Troy Township in Newaygo County and raised by his grandparents James Ray & Doris (Smith) Hill. He married Marjorie Marie Maynard on July 10, 1969, in White Cloud. Bruce was a retired Army veteran after serving over 20 years and later a line supervisor for Wolgamott & Hammersley Tree Service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and cherished his time with his family.

Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie; children, Yvonne (Taresea) Hill, Charles (Abby) Hill, and Shaun (Jessica) Hill, all of Bitely; grandchildren, Joshua Struble, Joseph Hill, Matthew Hill, Aaron Hill, Annmarie Hill, Baine Hill, Savannah Hill, Corbin Hill, Connor Johnson, and Camryn Johnson; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Alexia, Penelope, Shaun, Ian, Aubrey, and Addison; mother, Lena M. Hill-Whelpley; brothers and sisters, Jim (Kim) Hill of Bitely, Loren (Sandy) Wolgamott of Bitely, Guy Wolgamott of Bitely, Andy (Jean) Wolgamott of Muskegon, Elepha Karn of Eau Claire, and Cheryl Stahl of North Carolina; and aunt, Ruby Hill-Mueller of Florida. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James Ray & Doris (Smith) Hill; stepfather, Kenneth Whelpley, uncle, Charles (Helen) Hill; aunt, Maxine Hill-Wolgamott; brothers, Dennis & Dale Whelpley, George, LD, Labon, and Dale Wolgamott; sister, Margaret (Wolgamott) Martin; and several brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law.

Service will be held at 12 PM, on Friday, June 23, 2017, at the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont. There will be visitation prior to the service from 10AM \endash 12PM at the funeral home.
