AUBURN MAN DIES AT THE AGE OF 66
Funeral Services for Lawrence M. Carper, who Resided at 344 West Eleventh Street, are Set for Saturday
Lawrence M. Carper, 66, who resided at 344 West Eleventh street, Auburn, died at the Dr. Bonnell M. Souder hospital in Auburn at 1:15 a.m. Thursday.
Mr. Carper had been in failing health for the past two years and entered the hospital three days before his death.
Friends may call at the Dilgard & Cline funeral home in Auburn after 10 a.m. Friday.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home at 3:30 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Casto Ball, pastor of the Baptist church in Auburn, officaiting. The Auburn American Legion post will hold military services at the graveside at Roselawn cemetery, near Auburn.
Mr. Carper was born Jan. 7, 1897, in Illinois and he was the son of the late George W. and Sarah Moore (sic) Carper. He had resided in Auburn for 20 years and was a retired employee of the Warner-Motive Division in Auburn.
On Feb. 23, 1922, he and LaVon DeLong were married. He was a veteran of World War I and was a member of the Auburn Moose Lodge.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs.Larry Collins of 808 South Phillip street, Auburn and Mrs. Roger Shull of 216 East First Street, Auburn; a son, Pvt. Larry Carper who is serving with the U.S. Army at Fort Hood, Texas; five grandchildren; six brothers and four sisters. 1
Mary married Claude Eugene Delong, son of Orrin Henry Delong and Olive May Treesh. (Claude Eugene Delong was born on 30 May 1905 in Dekalb County, Indiana, USA, died on 25 Oct 1960 in Noble County, Indiana, USA and was buried in Fairfield Cemetery, Fairfield Center, Dekalb County, Indiana, USA.)
