Isabelle (Carmichael) Noll, formerly of Hudson, Indiana, departed this life on June 25, 2018, fulfilling a journey of serving her family and her community.
Isabelle was born on May 26, 1923 to Columbus "Earl" Carmichael and Stella "Cecil" (Richmond) Carmichael near Gallipolis, Ohio, on the family farm where she spent her early years.
She attended Fairfield, Rodney & Gallipolis Schools, and graduated from Business School in Columbus, Ohio, later working for Southern Ohio Electric Company.
She married Herschel "Mike" Noll on August 3, 1945 at Toole, Utah, where Mike was serving his country in the U.S. Army. After his discharge from the Army, they settled in Hudson, Indiana where he and his brother, Dawson, started Noll Brothers Oil Company.
Isabelle and Mike spent their winters in Harlingen, Texas from 1982 until 2005, when Isabelle moved to Angola, Indiana. She was a resident of Cameron Woods where she made many friends. She spent her final year with her son and daughter-in-law in their home in Fort Wayne. Her final days were spent in Sage Bluff Nursing Center in Fort Wayne.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Mike, on March 18, 1993, and her brother, Charles Carmichael on May 28, 1994.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Nancy Noll, her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Jim Beer, four grandsons, Jeff (Wendy) Noll, Rod (Melanie) Beer, Corey (Summer) Noll, Scott Noll, and one granddaughter, Angie (Brad) Walker. She is also survived by three step-grandchildren, Angela (Tony) Eberly, Michelle (Joe) Snyder and Austin (Jennifer) Satterthwaite, nine great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Isabelle was a charter member of Work & Play Club, Hudson United Brethren Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Civic Club, Fireman's Auxiliary, Hudson Extension & Garden Club and other town projects. She was instrumental in getting street signs for the town of Hudson. She was named Queen of Dixieland Manor in 1993 and enjoyed participating in park activities.
Services will be Friday, June 29, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Hudson-Ashley Chapel, 612 North Main Street, Hudson with Pastor Craig Burkholder of the Hudson United Brethren Church officiating.
Burial will be in Circle Cemetery, Hudson.
Calling is Thursday, June 28, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Preferred memorials are to the Hudson Volunteer Fire Department.
