General Notes: Margaret of Denmark (23 June 1456 \endash 14 July 1486), also referred to as Margaret of Norway, was Queen of Scotland from 1469 to 1486 by marriage to King James III. She was the daughter of Christian I, King of Denmark, Norway and Sweden, and Dorothea of Brandenburg. Margaret married King James III Stewart King of Scotland, son of King James II Stewart King of Scotland and Mary of Guelders Queen of Scotland, in 1469. (King James III Stewart King of Scotland was born in May 1452 in St Andrews Castle, Scotland and died on 11 Jun 1488 in Sauchie Burn, Scotland.) |
