Pedro was the son of Juan Manuel Burruel and Timotea Burruel.

"On 30 June 1880, Pedro and Maria Jesús lived on their ranch along the Santa Cruz River with their children-Joaquín, "Damatia," and Cruz, along with a 20-year-old named Manuel Castro.
On 1 March 1881, Pedro, testified that he was 48 years old, that he had moved to Tucson when he was ten, and that he had moved to San Xavier about 1873. He assisted in the surveying of the land in 1851.
Pedro Burruel died from pneumonia on 21 Dec 1886,and was buried in the Catholic cemetery in Tucson, probably on 23 Dec 1886. He and his wife Maria Jesusa Higuera were the parents of six children." Original burial in Court Street Cemetery. Removed to "the Catholic Cemetery in Tucson." 1
