General Notes: Elwood Call Leader Elwood, Madison Co., IN Sat. Sept. 1, 1945 Died Early Today Mrs. Mary Mamie Singer, 41, of 826 North 14th Street died at the Mercy hospital at 6:30 o'clock this morning of complications. She had been ill for the last year. Born October 2, 1903, she was the daughter of Charles and Margaret Jones. She was married to Marion Singer on July 9, 1921. Survivors include the husband Marion, the mother Mrs. Margaret Heflin of Elwood: five sons Sgt Robert Singer with the Eighth Air Force in Texas, Col. Marion Singer, Jr. also stationed somewhere in Texas with the ninth Army, William Singer fireman first class of the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific, Merle and James at home, and one daughter Jeanette at home: a brother Mervin Jones of near Elwood: and one sister Mrs. Irene D___ of Elwood. The body was removed to the Clark Chapel and will be returned to the family residence Monday. No funeral arrangements have been completed. Mary married Francis Marion Singer on 9 Jul 1921. (Francis Marion Singer was born on 18 Jan 1899 in Wells County, Indiana, USA, died on 20 Jan 1965 in Madison County, Indiana, USA and was buried in Elwood Cemetery, Elwood, Madison County, Indiana, USA.) |
