Sir Archibald "The Tyneman" Douglas
(Abt 1297-1333) |
Sir Archibald "The Tyneman" Douglas 1
General Notes: Sir Archibald Douglas was a Scottish nobleman, Guardian of Scotland, and military leader. He is sometimes given the epithet "Tyneman", but this may be a reference to his great-nephew Archibald Douglas, 4th Earl of Douglas. Archibald married Lady Beatrice De Lindsay Baroness of Douglas, daughter of Sir Alexander De Lindsay Sixth Lord of Crawford, Justiciary of Scotland and Lady Beatrix Alice Stewart Countess of Crawford. (Lady Beatrice De Lindsay Baroness of Douglas was born in 1291 in Crawford, Lanarkshire, Scotland and died on 2 May 1352 in Erskine, Renfrewshire, Scotland.) |
