Milo, was the eldest son of Josceline de Courtenay, by his wife Isabel, daughter of Gui, Lord of Montlehery. Milo married Ermangarde, the daughter of Renaud II, comté de Nevers, (the great grandson of King Robert II and Constance of Arles) and Ida le Forez. Milo founded the Abbey of fontain-Jean, for the Cistertian order in 1124, and was, according to his desire, buried there in 1127. By his wife, Ermangarde, he had three sons: Guilliaume de Courtenay, who setttled forty shillings a year on the abbey of Fontain-Jean, to maintain lights in the church, and died in the Holy Land. Milo married Ermengarde of Nevers, daughter of Renauld II, Comté de Nevers and Advisa “Hedwig” Capet. (Ermengarde of Nevers was born about 1073 in Nevers, Departement de la Nièvre, Bourgogne, France and died about 1095 in Courtenay, Departement du Loiret, Centre, France.)
