York, Catherine M. Wertz, 90, died at 11:10 a.m. Thursday, November 16, 2017 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Clair E. Wertz, and the late T. William Estep, Sr.
Born August 8, 1927 in Manchester Township, one of 13 children of the late Albert E. and Susan C. (Schroll) Leas.
She had worked as a private nurse for York Hospital and area convalescent homes for 38 years.
Mrs. Wertz is survived by two daughters, Ruth M. Hoffman, and Melissa Smith, both of York; two sons, Thomas William Estep, Sr. and his wife, Iris of Manchester, and George J. Miller, Sr. of Shiloh; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Ellen E. Loesch of York; and a brother, Robert L. Leas of York.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Wertz; and a son, David E. Estep.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
Monday, November 27, 2017, at William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 S. Main St., Manchester, with the Rev. Thomas R. Osenbach, Pastor of Bethlehem Stonepile United Methodist Church, officiating. Visitation will be 12:30 to 1:30. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. KuhnerAssociates.com
