General Notes:
Extract from a letter written by Countess St Germans (Jemima Eliot) to her son, dated 31 Jul 1854: "What do you think of your old friend Yaddy Seymour marrying Lord Spencer! The families like it and you probably know that Lord Spencer's first wife was Lady Clinton's sister. He has one delicate son and one very gentilly daughter who much requires a mother in law to hep her and I trust Yaddy will make a good one. She ought to know what a girl requires in a mother in law."
The remains of Adelaide Countess Spencer were buried on Saturday last in the family vault of the Spencer family at Brington. Earl Spencer, K.G., and the Hon. C. Robert Spencer (only son of the deceased) were the chief mourners. (Western Daily Press, 06 Nov 1877, p7)
