The funeral for Alice V. Coppock, 75 of Ringwood was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Ringwood with Brother Brian Frable officiating. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery. Arrangements were by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home of Enid. Alice was born on a farm north of Meno to Everett L. and Ethel V. (Meliza) Rowe. She grew up in the Ringwood area and graduated from Ringwood High School in 1951. She was an accomplished pianist, valedictorian of her senior class and received several other academic awards. She and Alvin Coppock were married December 7, 1951 and they made their home in the Cleo Springs and Ringwood areas. She was a loving mother to her two children, a homemaker and helped her husband on the family farm. She was a member of the Friends Church in Cherokee and was a pianist and organist in churches in Cleo Springs and Fairview. As well as music she loved to crochet, read and most of all she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was very proud of all of them. She was very active in the Ringwood Alumni Association serving as a permanent records secretary until ill health would not allow her participation. Surviving are her daughter Peggy Whiteaker and Terry Wehling of Enid, son Terry and Devera Coppock of Ringwood. Grandchildren Cameron and Lana Coppock of Oklahoma City, Andrea and Mike Balay of Woodward, Barbara Coppock of Ringwood, Joey Whiteaker of Enid, great-grandchildren Justin, Erica, Joshua, Elias, Ashley and Aaron, a brother E V (Bun) and Hannah Rowe of Fairview, and lots of nieces and nephews and her loving care givers, Bobbi, Joyce, Maxine, Bernice, Lena, Stephanie, and the entire staff of Ross Hospice. Preceding her in death were her husband of 55 years, Alvin, her parents Everett and Ethel and niece Regina. Memorials may be made to Ross Hospice or Horn of Plenty with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the fund.
