Joyce Leas Obituary Joyce Carol (Williamson) Leas Died: July 15, 2023 Joyce Carol (Williamson) Leas, 93, of New Lenox, IL, passed away on July 15, 2023 at Sunny Hill Nursing Home. She was an incredible wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to many. Joyce had a passion for the arts, including stained glass and painting. She also had a special interest in gardening. Her infectious smile and positive attitude would light up any room. She cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, George Leas, as well as her parents, Florence and Leslie Williamson, sister Doris, brother Leslie, and grandson, Michael. She is survived by her children Cherie (Bruce) Spittal and Thomas (Mary) Pinkston, and also her step-children, Gary (Cindy) Leas and Grace (John) Dunn. She had many grandchildren, including Tara (Mark) Leja, Katie (Michael) Beckett, Andrew Spittal, Jennifer (Ronald) Dukes, Christine Pinkston, Gerald Pinkston, Marie (Jonathan) Molek, step-grandchildren, Veronica (Luke) Millen, Luke Dunn, Howard Leas, and Matthew (Susan) Leas. Joyce was also survived by many great-grandchildren. Joyce was born and raised in Joliet, Illinois, and was a graduate of Joliet Township High School. Throughout her life, Joyce worked at several jobs that she enjoyed. She was a secretary at Caterpillar, worked at Rust Craft Greeting Card Company and also owned her own wallpaper overlay business. However, her true calling was a professional artist. Joyce's artwork was exhibited in numerous fine arts shows, and her pieces are displayed locally and internationally. Joyce's wishes were not to have a formal service. Instead, a private Celebration of Life luncheon will be held in the near future. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to Sunny Hill Nursing Home or Lightways Hospice. The family wants to thank Sunny Hill for their excellent care and compassion of Joyce for the last 4 years. Joyce leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and cherished memories. She will be greatly missed by many.
