General Notes: Philip Jacob Rothrock was born in 1713 in Leiselheim, Germany, and immigrated to PA in 1733 on the "Mary" with his brother Johannes. He settled in York Co. PA. He was for a time U.S. Commissioner of Printing and Engraving at Philadelphia, after the Revolutionary War. He made several extended trips to NC, but returned to PA in his old age, and died there in 1803. His first wife, mother of all his children, was Catharina Kuntz, who died in 1777. His second marriage is recorded in York Moravian Church, 1781, to "Elenora Galatin, widow of Manheim." Philip married Catharina Kuntz. (Catharina Kuntz died in 1777.) Philip next married Elenora Galatin in 1781 in York Moravian Church, York County, Pennsylvania, USA. |
