General Notes: Noah Sr. (1722-1813) farmed 90 acres (360,000 m2), was justice of the peace and deacon of the local Congregational church, and was captain on the "alarm list" of the local militia. Noah's father was a descendant of Connecticut Governor John Webster; his mother Mercy (née Steele; d. 1794) was a descendant of Governor William Bradford of Plymouth Colony. Noah married Mercy Steele, daughter of Eliphalet Steele and Catherine Marshfield, on 12 Jan 1749 in Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut, USA. (Mercy Steele was born on 8 Oct 1727 in West Hartford, Hartford, Ct, christened on 8 Oct 1727 in West Hartford, Hartford, Ct, died on 5 Oct 1794 in West Hartford, Hartford, Ct and was buried on 8 Oct 1794 in Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut, USA.)
