Veit Clarence A "Joe", 50, R. 1, LaOtto, died June 9, in McCray Hospital from a heart attack. He was born July 14, 1919 in Monroeville, the son of Nelson and Emma (O'Brien) Veit. On May 16, 1942, he and Maxine Kimmel were married at Columbia City. He had resided near LaOtto for the past 20 years, moving there from Albion. He was employed as a tool and die man at McCray Corp., a division of Litton Industries. He was a member of the Avilla Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife; his parents; three sisters, Mrs. Helen Haynes, R. 1, Kendallville, Mrs. Mabel Carunchia, R. 3, and Mrs. Thelma Jean Sobieski, Kendallville; two brothers, Philip, Albion and James, R. 3, Kendallville. A son, Joseph Nelson Veit, preceded him in death on Sept. 25, 1964. Funeral Friday at Berhalter-Hutchins Funeral Home. Burial, Huntertown Cemetery. ~ 6-18-1970 + 6-9-1970
