Mrs. Lida McKinney Nelis, wife of Thomas Nelis, died at their home eight miles west of the city on the Franklin road at four o'clock Sunday morning at the age of seventy-four years.
Mrs. Nelis was born in Harrison county, Kentucky, on June 21, 1853, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Perkins. Her marriage to Jacob McKinney took place on June 30,1881, his death occurring fourteen years ago. On October 12, 1922, the deceased was married to Thomas Nelis who survives.
Two sisters, Mrs. June Courtney, of Shelby township, and Mrs. Lucy McKinney of Sadieville, Kentucky, and a brother, James Perkins, of this city also survive.
Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Old Union M. P. church, following short rites at the home at one o'clock. The Rev. Arville Owens, pastor of the Vine Street M. P. church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Center, cemetery in charge of Charles M. Ewing.
