Arlene M. Leas, 89 years, of the Keystone Villa of Douglassvile, passed away peacefully in the Lehigh Valley Medical Center, Cedar Crest, on Wednesday Aug. 31, 2011, where she was a guest for two days.
Born in Reading on May 6, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Floyd S. and Florence E. (Shelly) Leas.
Arlene was a Reading High School graduate and received a bachelor of science degree from Kutztown College in 1943.
She was employed for many years of her life as a third-grade school teacher for the Reading School District, and was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran church of Reading.
Arlene loved to travel and take cruises throughout the world with her brother, the late Earl E. Leas.
She is survived by a nephew, a niece, four great-nieces and one great-nephew.
Arlene was predeceased by two brothers, Earl E. and Floyd S. Leas Jr. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by family and friends.
Interment in Charles Evans Cemetery, Rdg.
