Obituary
Carol Ann Skelly, age 75, of Fremont, Indiana, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2016, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Carol was born in Fremont, Indiana on February 25, 1940, the daughter of Donald Parker and Phyllis (Jordan) Parker Goodin, they preceded her in death.
She married James D. Skelly on May 21, 1977 in Ashley, Indiana, he preceded her in death on February 4, 2014.
She lived in the Steuben County area most of her life, and attended school in Fremont, Indiana. She was a member of the Humane Society, and attended Pleasant Chapel Church of the Brethren. Her hobbies included doing puzzles, gardening, reading, and spending time with family, and her beloved dog, Gidget.
Survivors include her children, Donna (George) Pinson, Julie (Rod) Ridenour, Kristina (Dave) Garrison, and Alan Rakestraw, all of Fremont, Indiana, Edward L. Rakestraw, Jr., of Ashley, Indiana, and Jeremy Skelly of Aurora, Illinois, seven grandchildren, Leanne (Andy) Lies, Skye Rakestraw, Jordan (Jeffrey) Kaufman, Christopher (Kara) Milholland, Chase Milholland, Alissa Garrison, and Jenna Garrison, four great-grandchildren, Quinn, Lucy, Ezra, and Harper, a sister, Penny (Kelyn) Ireland of Fremont, Indiana, and three brothers, Hal (Joy) Parker of Angola, Indiana, James (Carolyn) Parker of Pleasant Lake, Indiana, and Terry Parker of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
She was also preceded in death by a grandchild, Roxanne Marie, sister, Jayne Parker, and six brothers, Thomas Parker, Phillip Parker, Donald Parker, and Duane Parker, and Theodore Blotter and Roscoe Blotter.
Funeral Services will be held at 6 pm Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana, with Pastor Valarie Kline officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the services from 5 pm until 6 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Jordan Cemetery, Fremont, Indiana, at a later time.
