Deeds Junr
of Westmoreland County Mount Pleasant Township and State of Pennsylvania have
made over unto John Deeds Senr
one set of Smith Tools VIZ one pair ballows one anvil & Vice
all other small Tools in my shop four head of Cow Creatures one bay mare of two years old five
head of sheep one Iron stove three beds and their furniture one Table one walnut chest one large
Iron Cittle and four pots and one stove pot Two Guns one dozen puter plates two puter dishes
one stack of hay and what is on the stable loft one Count book two spinning wheels two Chairs
two Barrels three flour Casks one half acre of flax and all the other furniture of or in my
dwelling house which articles I have by these presents made over unto the above named John
Deeds for a security of one hundred and twenty five pounds lawful money of Pennsylvania
which I borrowed from the said John Deeds Senr
and at what time I pay The said John Deeds or
his heirs the above mentioned one hundred and twenty five pounds the above named and
different articles to be my own property. In Testimony whereof I the said John Deeds JunR
have
hereunto set my hand and seal this Thirtyeth day of August in the year of our Lord God one
Thousand seven hundred and ninety nine.

Will Book 4; Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania; pages 192, 193: In the name of God
Amen I John Deeds of the Township of Hempfield in the County of Westmoreland and
State of Pennsylvania Being Sick and weak in Body but of Sound Mind Memory and
understanding Praised be God for it Considering the Certainty of Death and the
uncertainty of the time thereof and to the end I may be the Better Prepared to Leave this
world whenever it Shall Pleas God to call me home do therefore make and declare this My
Last Will and Testament hereby revokeing and making voide all former Wills by me at
any Time heretofore made and first and Principally I commit my Soul into the hands of
my Creator and as to Such worldly Estate wherewith it hath Pleased God to intrust me I
dispose of the Same as follows I order that all my Just Debts and funeral Expenses and
Charges of Proving this My Will be in the first place fully Paid and Satisfied and after
Payment thereof and Every Part thereof by My Executor hereinafter mentioned as Soon as

is convenient after My Death I will and Bequeath unto my Son Jacob his heirs and
assignes for Ever the farm on which he now resides Lying and being in the State of Ohio
containing Eighty acres for which I Paid for and I Bequeath to him a further Sum of fifty
Dollars to be paid to him one year after my Death by My Executor herein after Mentioned
which with what I have advanced to him shall be his Share in full out of my Estat the rest 13
and Remainder of all My Estate Real and Personal I devise to My Executor hereinafter
Mentioned in Trust to Sell and Convey as Soon as Convenient after my Death and the
Proceeds thereof I direct to be Disposed of as is herein after Directed I will and Direct My
Said Executor pay to my Son John the Sum of Five Dollars which with what I have
allready advanced to him is to be his full Share of all My Estate and the remainder of My
Estate I Bequeath as follows to wit namely to Polly Intermarried to John McAnelly One
Equel Share to Sarah Intermarried to John Miller one Equel Share Margaret married to
Ephraim Brunner one Equel Share Abraham one Equel Share Catherine married to
Mathew Shipe now decd
one Equel Share. William one equel Share to the heirs of My Son
Joseph decd
his equel Share Susannah Intermarried to Petre Beard one Equel Share and to
the Children of my Son Georg now decd
forty Dollars Each of them and further I Give and
Bequeath unto My Daughter Susannah My Bead and all My house furniture Over and
above hir Bequest alredy Made for hir Trouble of Taking Care of Me and I also Give and
Bequeath unto My Soninlaw Petre Beard My hors & Buggy and harness for his time and
Trouble of Taking Care of Me and Lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint My
Soninlaw Petre Beard My Executor to Execute this My last will hereby revoking and
Making voide all former and other Wills by Me at anytime heretofore made and Declare
