FROSTBURG - Harry J. Lease Jr., 82, of Frostburg, died Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at the Lions Care Center, Cumberland.
Born Oct. 27, 1925, in Pekin, he was the son of the late Harry Lease Sr. and Edna (Donald) Lease. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Earl Lease; two sisters, Kathleen McKenzie and Evelyn "Tiny" Muir; one sister-in-law, Betty Mason Lease; and one brother-in-law, Roy McKenzie.
Mr. Lease was retired from the bobbin department with Celanese Fibers Corp. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was Protestant by faith. He was a member of the Farrady Post 24 American Legion, Frostburg, and the Old Rail Post 6025 V.F.W., Mount Savage.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Helen Marie (Donaldson) Lease, Frostburg; one son, Steven Lease, Hagerstown; two daughters, Gail McKenzie and husband Allen, Mount Savage, and Diane Whetstone and husband Doug, Vale Summit; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Mr. Lease was cremated in accordance with his wishes and services will be private. Military honors will be accorded at the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery, Flintstone, by the Farrady Post 24 Honor Guard.
