Henry Gates Wildman, son of Thomas Jefferson Wildman and Catherine Lovina Chaffee, was born 13 Feb 1840 in Trumbull county, Ohio. He married Sarah Ellen Quick 22 Feb 1860 in Piatt County, Illinois. They had six children: Harvey M, Francis H., Emma A., Walter, Herbert and Huldah. 3 July 1886 Henry murdered his wife, Sarah. Henry was lynched and shot by a mob in Monticello, Illinois as reported in the "Monticello Bulletin" October 15, 1886. ²

Henry married Sarah Ellen Quick. (Sarah Ellen Quick was born on 29 May 1842 in Indiana, USA, died on 3 Jul 1886 in Atwood, Piatt County, Illinois, USA and was buried in Harshbarger Cemetery, Atwood, Piatt County, Illinois, USA.)
