He was born in Rockland township, Berks county, a son of the late Jacob and Caroline, nee Folk, Rohrbach. He and his brother, the late Oliver Rohrbach, operated the old Rohrbach mill in Rockland township until 1885, when Sylvester moved to Topton and built the present mill. For the past forty-four years he had lived in Topton, being one of the borough's most prominent and highly esteemed residents. He had held the distinction of being the oldest member of st. Paul's Lutheran church, Lyons, in which congregation he took a very active and prominent part and for twenty-five years served in various capacities in the church council. Besides his widow, Ida, nee Schmoyer, he is survived by the three sons, Edgar, Raymond and Paul, all of Topton, together with two sisters, Mrs. Emma Hannes, Lyons, and Mrs. Albert Kutz, Reading. Seven grandchildren also survive. The funeral will be held from his late residence, Franklin street, Topton, on Thursday at 1.30 p.m. Brief services will be held at the house, followed by further services in St. Paul's church, Lyons, the Rev.
