General Notes: ABNER F. LEAS. Mr. Leas was born in Fountain county, Indiana, October 6th, 1838. His father, George LEAS, was born in Pennsylvania, and came to Ohio when a small child. The family were among the first settlers in Warren county, Ohio. George Leas married, about 1830, Lydia CRANE (whose father was a Virginian, and settled in Miami county, Ohio, at an early period), and soon afterwards moved to Fountain county, Indiana. Noted events in his life were: • Occupation: Farmer. 4 Abner married Lydia Ellen Patton, daughter of Israel Patton and Hannah Mills, on 13 Mar 1867 in Danville, Vermilion County, Illinois, USA. (Lydia Ellen Patton was born on 27 Dec 1842 in Mayview, Vermilion Co., IL and died on 3 Jan 1885 in St. Joseph, Champaign County, Illinois, USA.) Abner next married Lettie J. Stevens, daughter of James A. Stevens and Millie Merrell, in 1887 in Champaign County, Illinois, USA.1 (Lettie J. Stevens was born on 27 May 1856 in Clermont County, Ohio, USA.) |
