...And certainly nothing could be written about Al Bryan without mention of his intense interest in history. Over the years he has simply saturated himself with history, reading it, of course, for his own enjoyment. There probably is no better authority on Civil War history in Findlay than Al Bryan who has practically every authoritative book written on the War Between the States.
His musical taste, however, is in complete converse. He enjoys \endash would you believe \endash Dixieland music! He has countless albums.
He is a philatelist, an antique collector (he collects tobacco jars) and he enjoys refinishing furniture.
He is past president of the Fort Findlay Stamp Club and is also a member of the National Philatelic Society and the American Philatelic Society.
Because of his absorbing interest in history he became affiliated with the National Historical Society and recently was made an honorary member of the Hancock Historical Museum Association.
He has been a member of the Findlay Kiwanis Club ever since coming to Findlay having transferred his membership from the Fostoria Club.
He and his wife are members of St. Andrews' United Methodist Church.
Al is also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and perhaps a number of other organizations, too, for, although no one would consider Al a "joiner", his interest is broad.
But if Al would want anything written about him (and of course he wouldn't) it would be that he is a grandfather! Mr. and Mrs. Bryan's daughter, Mrs. F. Richard (Jane) Dassel, and her husband have two sons, Michael and David. They reside in Cincinnati...
