Carole L. Wilhelm, 81, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018, at Orchard Pointe Health in Kendallville.

She was born Dec. 7, 1936, in the Harold and Hilda Reinoehl residence in DeKalb County to the late Eugene and Thelma (Westbrook) Leas.

Carole married Harold E. Wilhelm on July 13, 1978, in Ashley, and he survives in Waterloo.

She worked as a lab technician for Kraft Foods in Kendallville for 31 years, retiring in 1991.

Carole was a member of the Auburn Church of Christ. She also was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ Ladies Guild, Assembly of Christian Women, Auburn Classic City Doozies, Red Hat Society, Cedar Creek Tractor Club, and John Deere North Indiana 2 Cylinder Club, served as a key lady for the Golden Years Homestead, volunteered at Lake James Christian Camp, and volunteered as a driver for the DeKalb County Cancer Society.

Also surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Terry Nusbaum of Hudson; two sons, Kris Myers of Ashley and Kirk Myers of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; three stepsons and their spouses, Herschel and Susan Wilhelm of Waterloo, Thomas and Teresa Wilhelm of Garrett, and Jeffery and Tracy Wilhelm of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren, Jill and Courtland Griebel, Lori and Kurtis Christlieb, Chelsea and Matt McGill, Kendall and Nick Labrash, Steven and Knoll Nusbaum, Janelle and Dale Kennedy, Molly Wilhelm, Kylie Myers, Holly Myers, Aaron Wilhelm and Chris Wilhelm; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Linda and Philip Snider of Hicksville, Ohio, Sandra Shuman of Pleasant Lake, and Kathy Leas of Anderson; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Janeanne Leas of Greensburg, and Mark and Treva Leas of Dothan, Alabama; and a sister-in-law, Carol Leas of Fort Wayne.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Norman Leas; and a great- grandson, Ethan Richard.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2018, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 S. Wayne St., Waterloo, with visitation from 10-11 a.m. Monday prior to the service at the funeral home. Andy Grimes will be officiating. Burial will take place in Waterloo Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to Auburn Church of Christ or the St. John's United Church of Christ in Ashley. 2
