Anderson Leas is buried in Section 1, Lot #78 of Roselawn

Anderson Leas was Monroe Township assessor for seven terms: 1874 - 1881. He was also postmaster for about 15 years in West Manchester and had charge of the Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and St. Louis Railroad office for twelve years.

Anderson and his brother Asa were taken into their father's partnership (Townsend & Co.) in 1863 and 1867 respectively, and later operated the business as A & A Leas. They were buyers of grain and wool, being the largest grain buyers in the county. They also had a tailor shop.

Circa 1881, the business was bringing in about $ 16,000 per year. Anderson Leas and his brother Asa furnished substitutes for the 3-year service although they were not drafted in.

Anderson Leas is buried in Lot # 78 of Section 1 of Roselawn Cemetery.
