  General Notes:

John L. Price was educated in the common schools, and later at Scio College and Park College, Missouri. He engaged in teaching for several years, both in Harrison County, Ohio and adjacent counties. John was a Republican and later was numbered amoung the Prohibitionists. He took active interest in politics and was regarded by all as one of the leading young men in the area. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and took an active part in the Sunday School and was a trustee.

John married Alice Cummings on 7 Apr 1887.¹ (Alice Cummings was born on 22 Apr 1857 ¹.)
