MILDRED I. (LEAS) WEICHT, 30 Jan 1895 - 06 Mar 1963

A resident of Route 1, Hudson, Mildred I. Weicht, 88, died
Sunday morning in Cameron Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Hudson, the daughter of Marvin and Jenny
Henny Leas, and was a lifetime resident there.
She was the widow of Vern Weicht who died Nov. 14, 1975.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Billy (June) Sunday of
Angola, two grandchildren and four great-granddaughters.
The Rev. John Newell will conduct services at 2 p.m. today
(Wednesday) in the Salem Center Presbyterian Church where she
was a member. Burial will be in Block Cemetery, Salem
Center. Arrangements were made by Kistler's of Ashley-
Hudson.

1975. Mildred and Vern are buried at the Block Cemetery.
Marvin and Elizabeth Jane are buried at O-HUD, Steuben
County, Indiana.
Marvin Leas was the son of Jacob, 08 Mar 1821 - 26 Jan
1887, and Isabell (Shipe) Leas, who died 26 Sep 1901, aged 71
years, 1 month and 27 days. They are buried at County Line
Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. The 1880 United States
Census, Salem Steuben County, Indiana, Family History Library
Film #1254312, NA film Number T9-0312, page #285A, lists
Jacob, Isabell and their sons John T. and Marven in addition
to a Savilla Shipe listed as a domestic servant. Possibly
she is a relative since she has the same name as Isabell's
maiden name.
Vern D. Weicht was the son of Eugene F. Weicht, 1857 -
1932, and Effie M. (Silvey) Weicht, 1865 - 1943. Eugene was
the son of Dr. Frederick L. H. Weicht and Susan (McEntaffer)
Weicht Dole St.Clair. Eugene and Effie are buried at Block
Cemetery. Dr. Frederick L. H. and Susan are buried at Old
Angola Cemetery, Angola, Steuben County, Indiana.
Brother John Timothy Leas, 1857 - 1927, married Mary/Molly
M. (Norman) Leas, 1868 - 1916. They are buried at O-HUD
Cemetery.
