James Blackburn Crowe ^{1 2}

  General Notes:

James Blackburn Crowe was born James Blackburn "Crow" and changed his name sometime after moving to South Dakota, where he met and married a schoolteacher, Jane E (Jennie) Sibley.

They married 01 Nov 1905 in Charles Mix County, South Dakota, where their first daughter Cora Lucille was born. Then moved to Jones County, South Dakota where their other 3 daughters were born. Altazana Ruth, Mina Elizabeth and Jane (Jemmie) Crowe.

James was always a farmer and was said to move, at the "drop of a hat". As witnessed by his daughter Alta, who told this story.

James and Jennie were married for almost 40 years before she passed away in Sep 1945. James was the son of Samuel Jackson Crow and Elizabeth Leas, both born in Ohio. ⁴

James next married Jennie E. Sibley, daughter of John Sibley and Lucy Unknown, on 1 Nov 1905.¹ (Jennie E. Sibley was born on 11 Sep 1872 in Silvercreek, Calhoun County, Illinois, USA,³ died on 1 Sep 1945 in Strafford, Greene County, Missouri, USA and was buried in Eastlawn Cemetery, Springfield, Greene County, Missouri, USA ⁴.)
