WAYNE L. LEAS
COSHOCTON \endash Wayne L. Leas, 81, formerly of S. Second Street., Coshocton, died at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 1996, at College Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Coshocton.

Born July 9, 1915, in Tunnel Hill, he was the son of the late John Clifford and Bernice Vern (Perkins) Leas.

On Nov. 25, 1944, he married Ruth Rovena Norris, who preceded him in death on April 23, 1992.

Mr. Leas was employed by the railroad, the Bedford Township Trustees and was a foreman for the state highway department before retiring.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #761 in Coshocton, the Loyal Order of Moose #935 in Coshocton, and was a social member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2040 in Coshocton.

Mr. Leas is survived by a son Dean Myron Leas and wife Marty of West Lafayette; a daughter, Judith L. Haines and husband George W. of Warsaw; three grandchildren, Shawn L. Haines and wife Tracy of Warsaw, Tara Leas and Tiffany Leas of West Lafayette; two great-granddaughters, Chandra and Karlea Haines of Warsaw; two brothers, Rolland Leas and wife Marilyn of Coshocton, and Donis Leas and wife Margaret of Fort Myers, Fla.; two sisters, Marcella Leas of Glenmont and Ruth Hardesty of Coshocton; and tow nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and a brother, John C. Leas, Jr., who was killed during World War II in April 1945.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept 24, 1996, at Valley View Cemetery in Warsaw, with the Rev. John Russell officiating.

Friends may call from 5:30 \endash 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept 23, 1996, at the Free Funeral Home, S. Second St. Coshocton.
