Obituary for: Lydia Ruth Parr (April 15, 1927 - June 9, 1978)

Lydia Ruth Parr, 51, of rural Corunna died at 9 p.m. Friday, June 9 at her home while recuperating from surgery at the Mayo Clinic three weeks ago. Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, at the Pleasant Chapel Church of the Brethren with Reverend Thomas Deal officiating. Interment followed in Fairfield Center Cemetery, DeKalb Co. The Feller-Graffis Funeral Home, Waterloo was in charge of arrangements. Preferred memorials are donations to the Pleasant Chapel Church. Mrs. Parr was born April 15, 1927 to John H. and Effie (Hamman) Reinoehl. She married Otis Burdette Parr on June 9, 1945. Mrs. Parr was a Democratic Party precinct committee member for several years and was active in that party. She also was a member of the Pleasant Chapel Church of the Brethren, the Fairfield Friendship Club and the Pleasant Chapel Women's Fellowship. Survivors include her husband, Otis Burdette; two sons, Thomas Parr, rural Corunna; and Timothy Parr, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Marcia Franks, rural Ashley; and Marcella Parr at home; two brothers, John and Paul Reinoehl, both of Ashley; two half-brothers, Willis Reinoehl of Corunna and Harold Reinoehl, rural Ashley; and a sister, Olga Taylor, rural Waterloo.


Lydia married Otis Burdette Parr, son of Charles Earl Parr and Katherine Margaret Hovarter, on 9 Jun 1945 in Corunna, Dekalb County, Indiana, USA. (Otis Burdette Parr was born on 22 Feb 1924, died on 19 May 2017 in Dekalb County, Indiana, USA 2 and was buried in Fairfield Cemetary, Fairfield Center, Dekalb County, Indiana, USA 2.)
