Death: Mrs. Gertrude E. Burnette, aged 64, wife of Joseph E. Burnette, died at the family residence, West Sunbury R.D. 3, at 10 o'clock Friday night following a lingering illness. Born in Bruin, she had resided in Butler county her entire life.

Surviving are her husband, Joseph E. Burnette; three sons, Clarence W. of Akron, George W. of Albion and Carl A. Burnette of Akron; four daughters, Mrs. Nellie Woodruff of Washington, Mrs. Gertrude Stevens of Hilliards, Mrs. Celia Waite of Akron and Mrs. Marie Hutchison of West Sunbury R.D.; two brothers, W.S. Beatty of Sharon and C.L. Beatty of Lorain, OH.; a sister, Mrs. Fred Lingerman of Akron, OH., and 20 grandchildren.

She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Hilliards. Funeral services will be held from the Methodist Episcopal church at Ridgeville a 2 o'clock Monday afternoon with Rev. W.S. McNees, pastor of the North Washington Presbyterian church, and Rev. A. Marwenger, pastor of the Hilliards Methodist Episcopal church officiating. Burial will be in the Ridgeville cemetery.

Gertrude married Joseph E. Burnette in 1892.¹ (Joseph E. Burnette was born on 1 Aug 1874 in Coleberg, Trumble Co., OH, died on 8 Aug 1952 in Akron, Summit County, Ohio, USA and was buried in Rosewood Cemetery, Ridgeville, Butler County, Pennsylvania, USA.)
