Edward Everrett Parr, son of Burton Jefferson and Lucinda Riley Parr, was born September 29, 1860 and died June 2, 1946 at the age of 85 years, 8 months and 1 day. He was married to Mollie E. Gaither, September 5, 1886, and to this union 12 children were born: 8 boys and 4 girls. Only once has this family circle been broken. Edward Earl was tragically taken from their midst on April 12, 1932. Survivors are his wife, Mollie; 11 children: Clarence, Burton, William, Robert, Harry, Frank, Ralph, Mary Belle, May, Eva and Minnie, 30 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; a brother, Percy Parr, and many friends. He lived his entire life in Alton where he contributed many services and kind deeds to the welfare of the community. Burial Flower Point Cemetery. ³
