William Arthur Hickman, 77, Route # 1. Albion was killed Monday, December 26, 1988 in an automobile accident on U.S. 33 north of Churubusco. He was a passenger in a car driven by Pearl E. Luke of Albion, which collided head-on with another vehicle at 1:42 p.m. She also died in the mishap. He was born April 9, 1911 in Noble Co. IN, the son of Hugh and Bessie (Grubb) Hickman. His wife, Bonita May, whom he married on October 25, 1942, in Albion, died in April. He was a retired state highway department employee and a member of the Albion Wesleyan Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Shirley) Guenther, Albion and Mrs. Donald (Sharon) Harden, Ligonier; two sons, Robert, Ligonier and Donald, Jackson, Michigan; two sisters, Martha Ellen Mansfield, Kendallville and Mae Bailey, Ligonier; two brothers, Hugh and James, both of Albion; 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral was Friday at Wesleyan Church, Albion with Rev. Melvin Linville officiating. Burial in Sweet Cemetery.
