Son of Domine Everardus Bogardus and Anneke Jans.

Jonas Bogardus was baptized on 4 January 1643 at Reformed Dutch Church, New Amsterdam, sponsors olof Strephenszen Van Courtlt, Mr. Gysbert opten dyck, Tryntje Jonas, Sara Roelofs.
"Records of the Reformed Dutch Church in New York", New York Genealogical and Biographical Record Vols.5- (1874-): 5:32. Jonas; parents: D. Everardus Bogardus; witnesses: olof Stephenszen Van Courtlt, Mr. Gysbert opten dyck, Tryntje Jonas, Sara Roelofs.

He was living 9 Mar 1670/71 when he joined with his brother Willem Bogardus in cinveying the "Domine's Bouwerie" to Governor Francis Lovelace. He is said to have died not married.

There is no evidence that he ever married.
