LAGRANGE \emdash Charles E. Rasler, 85, of LaGrange, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at Parkview Noble Hospital
Charles served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of LaGrange American Legion Post 215 and Kendallville VFW Post 2749.
He was born Jan. 20, 1928, to Homer R. and Lela (Fritz) Rasler. On June 24, 1949, he married Hilda M. Garrison in Kendallville. She died Feb. 11, 2008.
Surviving Charles are his sons, Charles (Barbara), Pat (Kelly) and Andy Rasler, all of LaGrange, and Gary (Candy), Ed, Tim (Madeline) and John Rasler; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sisters Barbara Stewart, June Leas and Phyllis Phillips.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a wife; grandsons Jeffrey and Robby Rasler; a sister; and a brother
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at Lake Bethel Cemetery, LaGrange. Kendallville VFW Post 2749 performed military rites. There was a memorial gathering at Kendallville VFW Post 2749 following the service.
Memorials may be directed to the Stroh Fire Department or Kendallville VFW Post 2749.
