Aaron Van Cleave ¹

  General Notes:

John and Jane Van Cleave's parents were Aaron Van Cleave and Rachel Schenck who migrated from New Jersey to the Yadkin Country. They did not go with the rest of the family to Kentucky and they are buried in the "Old Burnin' Rig' (Burying Ridge) at Mocksville in the same historic cemetery with Daniel Boone's parents. Aaron and Rachel Schenck Van Cleave purchased the 640 acre homestead of Daniel and Rebecca Boone when they left the Yadkin for Virginia the first time.

Aaron married Rachel Schenck, daughter of Jan Roelolse Schenck and Sarah Williams. (Rachel Schenck was born about 19 Feb 1709 in Princeton, Mercer, New Jersey, USA ² and died on an unknown date in Rowan County, North Carolina, USA ².)
