He came to Stark Co., OH in 1816. Adam was apparently quite well off financially. When he arrived in Indiana in 1850 he brought a draft for $5000 with him with which he purchased land for his children; 160 acres for each son and 80 acres for each daughter. He died at the home of his daughter, Mary Polly Houck. 3


Adam married Mary Roan about 1813. (Mary Roan was born on 25 Dec 1791 in Stark County, Ohio, USA, died on 18 Nov 1864 in Spencerville, Dekalb County, Indiana, USA and was buried in Waynesburg Cemetery, Waynesburg, Stark County, Ohio, USA 2.)
