IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN
I, DETERICK MUMERT, of the Township of Reading, in the County of York, and the Providence of Pennsylvania Being Weak in Body but of Sound memory blessed be God, I do make this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following: First: I bequeath my Soul unto God, and my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently Buried, and as to my Wordly Estate, I dispose thereof as followeth, that is to say I do First appoint all my debts and funeral Expenses to be paid out of my Personal Estate by my Executors hereinafter named. I Give and order to my loving Wife all my Estate to keep in her hands as Long as she liveth, and after her decease, I order that all my Estate shall Equally be divided amongst all my Children, JOHN MUMERT, WILLIAM MUMERT, MARGARET the Wife of DAVID EHRHART, MARY the Widow of SAMUEL WEBSTER deceased, SUSANNAH the Wife of PHYLIP JACOBS, ELIZABETH the Widow of ABRAHAM HOW deceased and CATHERINE MUMERT and I do further order that my said Seven Children shall not make vendue of my Goods and Chatles but divide the said Goods and Chatels among them selves Equally after the appraisement of my personal estate aforesaid. I do futher order that all my Bonds and notes shall recover no interest Until my and my wife's decease. And I do futher order that if any of my aforesaid children should offer to Brake this my Last Will and Testament by applying to the Law shall have ten shillings Sterling money and no more. And I make Loving friends PHILIP HENEMAN and BERNARD HOCKINBOUGH Sole Executors of the my Last Will and Testament, in trust, for the Intents and purposes in this my Will contained. In Witness Whereof, I the said DETRICK MUMERT have to this my Last Will and Testament set my hand and Seal this Seventh day of June in the Year of our Lord, one thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Nine, 1769.
