EARL B. HOFF

ELKHART -- Friends of Earl B. "Harv" Hoff may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home, 403 W. Franklin St., Elkhart, and from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Saturday memorial service at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Don Reed will officiate. Cremation will take place.
Mr. Hoff, 56, of Elkhart, died at 11:25 a.m. Sunday (Nov. 26, 2006) at Memorial Hospital of South Bend as the result of a massive stroke.
He was born Nov. 10, 1950, in Fort Wayne to Earl B. and Ruth (Langmeyer) Hoff. On July 14, 1973, in Columbia City he married Lora C. Leas.
She survives along with one daughter, Alyssa (Travis) van Bibber of Utah; one son, Andrew (Trena Danner) Hoff of Elkhart; one grandchild; three sisters, Ann Hoff-Garfien of Indiana, Beth Hoff of Minnesota and Elizabeth Waters of Oklahoma; and four brothers, Tom Hoff of Florida, Terry and Dan Hoff, both of Indiana, and Paul Hoff of Washington.
Mr. Hoff's longest career position was as controller at Federal-Mogul of South Bend. Most recently, he was senior financial analyst at Press Ganey in South Bend. He was a descendant of the earliest settler in Fort Wayne, who settled in 1814. He enjoyed dancing, gardening, landscaping and showing his bonsai plants at the Elkhart County 4-H Fair.
Mr. Hoff was a member of First United Methodist Church, where he served as Sunday school teacher. His final gift of his organs and tissue will benefit up to 11 families.
