The information on the earlier Howerters, Valetin Hohwerder, b. ca. 1710 and Heinrich Hohwerter, b. 1678. was received from Mr. Ghlee Howerter, Cuba, Illinois. Ghlee Howerter hired a professional genealogist to do research for him in the United States and in Germany. I have also received information from Joan Gustafson, Nick Sterm, Greg Price, John Peter Auvil, Phil Reinoehl Carrie McGee and Sharon Wilcox. This information was received by e-mail or from their web sites.
He was married to Anna Maria before 1710 in possibly Switzerland. They resided in the small village of Thaleischweiler Germany. All that is known of them has been taken from church records received from their parish. It has been suggested by the researcher (Dr. Eager) Archivest at Speyer Germany that Heinrich and Anna Maria possibly could have migrated from Switzerland as many people in this area (called the sickering hohe) had.
